On Sunday October 16th, 2005, Bob Gardner and Donnie Peterson organized an open house for the citizens of Chelmsford. Local 1839's Unit 4 and other members entertained the many children and their parents who were at this well attended event. We thank Papa Gino's for their generous donation of pizzas. The attendees were entertained by Pluggy, our fun-loving fire hydrant, who talked with the children and kept them entertained with useful information about fire safety. Both on-duty and off-duty firefighters helped everyone explore the trucks by answering questions and pointing out the special features of each piece. Unfortunately the weather wouldn't permit us to have a live fire demonstration but we did get a chance to demonstrate the Jaws of Life for the crowd. We would just like to thank the townspeople for helping to make this a great event and we look forward to seeing you at next years open house.
